The Three Tuns is a long and thin pub with seating in the windows either side of the central entrance. This seating continuous up the right faced by the bar counter on the left-hand wall. At the rear is a small open plan seating area. There are lots of framed occult pictures n the gents for some reason.
The bar supports standard and premium keg and the four hand pumps were drawing Ossett’s White Rat, Wainwright, Pedigree and Ringwood’s Boondoggle. There are also four ciders options. Food is available, the cheeseburger is priced at £13. The service was very friendly and I thought this place was OK, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

Another old pub, reputedly haunted and all that malarky. As it’s York many people have described the interior more or less accurately - it don’t change much. Currently owned by Marstons, it was once badged as a Mansfield house, so you’ve got three pulls of their (Carlsberg Marstons Brew Co) stuff including a mediocre and pricey (£4.80) Pedigree, with Daleside bringing up the rear on a fourth. Yes it’s a bit over decorated with stuff.

Quite a cosy old timbered pub, a little bit over-embellished with pictures and other tat to appeal to the tourists no doubt, but friendly enough and largely patronised by shoppers on this visit. A reasonable selection of beers from the wider Marstons range are offered plus the odd guest, which proved to be a rather delicious Salamander Python Porter. Some boxed Rosies Pig ciders were also noted.
