This building was built in 1867 for the Sheffield Water Works Company, with the name carved into the front of the building over the main entrance. You traverse up into this building via some large stone steps, with the main bar area in front of you. The interior was fairly basic, apart from a staircase on the left leading up to a Mezzanine floor. Six ales on handpump serving GK IPA, Doombar, Abbott, plus three guest ales Salamander Morning Glory, Titanic First Class and Bradfield Farmers Blonde.

A Wetherspoons with music? Someone didn't get the memo from the Lloyds rebranding! That apart, it is quite pleasant in the average Spoons way - a splendid building with some tasteful but bland furnishings, although some of the original doors survive on the toilets. There didn't seem to be a huge choice of guest ales, but the Beer Mats Matte Black that I had was quite superb. The place certainly seemed nicer than its confederate round the corner.

Now branded with large gold lettering as Wetherspoons,this is a very grand building from the outside,but less impressive inside.There are a flight of steps to the entrance,inside to the left is a mezzanine level,while to the right there are a series of high tables along the gothic windows,the ceiling height here is impressive.
There is a simple bar with just 6 handpumps offering on my trip regular GK IPA,Abbott and Doom Bar with guests Little Critters Raspberry Blonde (decent enough but soon ran out) and Adnams Ghost Ship with another pump reversed.
Functional but with a modest ale range,I can't see any reason to revisit given the pyriad ale choices within a stones throw.
