Still an OK Spoons, split level inside, bar to the right, fire in the upstairs section. Unusually for a Spoons the toilets are downstairs! Enough variety on the pumps to make a visit worthwhile (including a couple of dark beers), and being opposite Morrisons there is the perfect excuse to nip in for a swift one.

The Eccles Cross is a large Spoons with a bar along the right rear wall that supports 12 hand pumps and a range of premium and standard keg products. The bar faces split level seating and gaming machines that run up the centre of the pub. My visit back in September last year was on a Tuesday evening when I got to take advantage of the steak and a pint deal for £7.45. Service was polite.

A pretty decent Spoons this one with a good selection of ales on handpump. It was even better when we spotted a couple of choices from Peerless Brewery, so we went for the Peerless Eureka and at £1.99 a pint it was even better. We took our drinks up to the raised mezzanine area, which was a decent part of the pub and took note of the original balcony painted front, from the time when this was a Cinema. There was also an informative mural, depicting the times when this area had a lot of mills.
