Fairly standard spoons, beer quality wasn't bad and the service was quite quick. There's a second bar upstairs with a couple of hand pumps.

The Sir Henry Tate is a Wetherspoon's on the edge of the town centre next to what looks like a fairly modern shopping development. I often start or finish my day at a Wetherspoons', as opening times are fairly reliable. This one was my last of the night on this occasion and whilst it was quiet, there were still around 20 customers in.

The usual 3 'spoon's standards were on - Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best & Sharp's Doom Bar. The 3 guest beers were Moorhouse's Pendle Witches Brew & Reedley Hallows New Zealand Pale & Filly Close Blonde. The cider was Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon. I decided to finish on a half of the Black Dragon and at £1, I certainly couldn't argue with the price. At 7.2%, many people could get drunk for just a tenner!

A slightly above-average Wetherspoon's.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sir Henry Tate (Lloyds No 1)

Not sure whether this is still a Lloyds No 1 Bar since it looks much the same as any new-build 'spoons. It also has a reasonable (if not local) selection of real ales from nine of ten handpumps, and getting an Elgood's plum porter for just £1.99 is something of a result.
