I was rather more impressed with this place than the previous reviewer. Fairly busy, but the service was very good and all the tables were clean and ready for use. A slightly pedestrian selection of guest ales, but my beer was in good nick. We'll happily call in here again.

On a sweaty sunny afternoon, the outside seating was packed and relatively few were sat inside the spacious interior. being so humid and after a long walk from Lytham, I swerved the Plum Porter in favour of a Leffe with my pizza. generally I took a disliking to this one. The interior is rather soulless, the pizza was lacking cheese and tomato and the walls must be the most sparsely decorated of any Spoons I have visited. The FA Cup final was also showing on the TVs with audible commentary, though at least very few customers were bothered and it was easily avoided.

This Spoons is surprisingly down a side street and not on the main thoroughfare. Nevertheless, it was still quite busy on our Thursday afternoon visit. The bar area is on your immediate right as you enter and the area in front of the bar was quite narrow, so I couldn't imagine trying to get served on a busy Friday/Saturday night. The main lounge at the rear of the pub does open out and has plenty of seating options, including a raised area along the back, which hosted a log burning fire. Two banks of five pumps, so we went for the Big Bog Will O the Wisp and Worsthorne Some Like It Blonde, both priced at £2.15 a pint and both were in good shape.
