I went in today to celebrate a birthday with a group of 6 people, just for some drinks and to watch the band play, which I heard about. I only walked in and stood by the bar.

A woman approached me and told me I had to leave, because I was making the bar tender, Martin Alexander Hunter feel "uncomfortable ".

I hadn't said anything, done anything or even had the chance to buy anything, i just stood by the bar waiting to order.

How I was treated was appalling and very unprofessional. Because of this, me and my group left to go somewhere else that was more welcoming and professional.

I haven't been to this establishment for a while due to the fact I don't drink very much at all, but because it was a family occasion, I hold that personally and have every right to attend a public place. It is to my understanding that you don't bring personal problems to a place or work right?

I had no intentions other than to celebrate a family birthday. And for someone to try and embarrass me infront of my partner and my family over something that has nothing to do with anyone or the establishment itself, is disgusting.

Martin Alexander Hunter couldn't of felt uncomfortable if he is happy to drink at my local in the town I live in, knowing the possibility of bumping into me.

I will be taking this further because this was unreasonable and completely unnecessary.

The much more modern (and larger) of the two Rushall canal-side pubs, with a substantial outdoor patio garden by the water and three main rooms inside. The biggest of these has a remarkable, and possibly unique, barge-shaped seating area? The other two also have their own counters from the central serving area. Disappointingly, neither of the handpumps was in use, so made do with a John Smith's (£3.10) before heading back to Walsall.

A large low-level winged-corridor modern pub, in cream render with red paintwork, which sits by the canal. It has a beer patio and garden with nice views of the canal.

The interior is interesting and fun. There is a front room which has a pool table and dart board, which i saw briefly, along with a brick fireplace. The main L-shaped room if partitioned a little. It is in white, red, coffee wood panel in parts, with a green stained wood ceiling. It has several TVs, mainly off at my last visit thought one had Ascot on. The music is general and at a decent level. The interest is supplied by the canal memorabilia dotted about and the seating made out in the shape of a canal barge, with decor to match, that is about to go into a 'tunnel'. We ate here and the food was fine and not expensive. The staff were friendly and the clientele, though mixed, were more to the younger side and families - perhaps the Manor Arms next door takes more of the oldies!

Beer was the usual taps, with Theakston's Dark Smooth MILD, which i know is fakey, but is still nice. There is a single real ale - that being Caledonian Blonde, which was well kept

On a personal note, it is more of a place I would visit for one, and to eat. Saying that, you could do a lot worse than come here. They have music nights and plenty of space. Give it a go!
