Real Ale Ray left this review about White Bear
Originally this was built as a private house for a local cotton merchant and dates from 1607. The exterior looked very inviting and one would expect it to have a countryfied interior. The interior was modern and very commercial, which was disappointing, with the main emphasis on food, with lots of menus and special offers littering the tables. Surprisingly this pub did have six hand pumps, with five on. I was torn between the Moorhouse's Blonde Witch and the Ilkley Blonde, so went for the Ilkley, which was fine, but prices were a lot dearer compared to the micro across the road.
