nice traditional pub with a very friendly and jovial landlord, albeit absolutely tiny - just one small room with a few tables. Four Hydes ales in decent nick and at decent prices. Worth a look if perhaps not a ‘must do’, it’s slightly brewery sterilised in a way that the Circus Tavern isn’t.

Visited this Hydes Good Beer Guide 2022 pub on 11.8.22 and found it to have a friendly locals atmosphere. We enjoyed Hydes Dark Ruby, and the other was Ralf + Alf Fruity Pig also brewed by Hydes.

Bijou Hydes pub with a lot of character. Up a few steps to enter to a traditional wood-heavy main bar with a lovely wood panelled circular servery. Quiet compared to nearby outlets but I had a good laugh with the middle-aged locals who were in supping. Five cask with a distinct lack of turnover unfortunately, the Original was a bit pump tired (NBSS 2.5) and the 1863 just passed muster (3). I really liked the place as a pub but the ale didn’t convince (a Manchester city centre theme over the years). GBG ’22 listed. 7.5
