The Rembrandt, or Rem Bar, is a JW Lees pub that was busy with an all-male clientele during a recent Thursday evening visit. The serving counter, stocked with standard and premium keg, runs across the rear wall where it faces high tables along the front windows. Banquettes run up the right-hand wall and there’s a stage to the left. Some 1980s background music was playing. The service was polite and I wasn’t made to feel unwelcome, but I struggled to settle because this place isn’t aimed at me.
