Plenty of cask options here. Rosie's Pig cider, Sambrook's Wandle, Oakham Citra, TT Landlord, Sharp's Solar Wave and Thornbridge Jaipur. Keg options were Madri, Aspall cider, Indy Pils from Wimbledon Brewery, Gipsy Hill Hepcat, Pravha, Lucky Saint, Dennis Hopp'r from Mondo, Staro, Guinness, Blue Moon.

Grand old pub opposite Tooting library. Bar counter a U shape off the rear wall of the front part of the venue greeting you as you walk in from the busy high street out front. Stools at the sides of the bar counter and seating all around the front part in the form of banquettes against the walls and comfy chairs in the other sides of the tables in front thereof. Really high ceilings with some small chandeliers suspended from the dark blue anaglypta ceiling. The right-hand side of the bar had a wall adorned with China plates, but generally the walls here were wood panelled with small photos in frames or plaques. Off the left-hand side of the front of the venue were a couple of other seating areas, a smaller one laid with tables for diners on the right-hand side and so substantively behind the bar area and kitchen and a much larger function room which had a very large projector screen against the wood panelled wall opposite the windows. Out the back of the venue is a beer garden, with paving slabs and traditional picnic benches with umbrellas. Thought this was a really good old school pub, lacking in a bit of ambiance on my early evening visit given few punters in but no faulting it on providing a decent if not exotic cask ale offering.

A very fine exterior and interesting interior mark this out as a pub you really must visit when in Tooting. The curved front windows, etched glass and original doors are noteworthy with the bar immediately infront and two wings either side. The right side has the etched glass and furniture throughout is classy ,some high tables, some fitted banquettes with the servery having two operational sides and a fancy glass bar back.
The interior is large and worth exploring,As you go back there is a seperate room to the left which was hosting a paid for commedy night, there is a sunken snug to the right, then an open kitchen with dining tables infront, while the rear beer garden is large and features an open fronted building where you can keep dry but still enjoy the fresh air of sorts in Tooting !
At the bar Sambrooks Wandle,TT Landlord and Hammerton N7,NBSS 3.It's in the 2026 GBG which seemed justified and the pub is popular with a wide cross section including lots of nurses and doctors. The flatscreens were on mute.
I would gladly return, the pub has a positive vibe and enough features to keep pub tickers happy.

A good size and slightly unusually looking pub, with three arches over the ground floor and a brick façade to the upper floors, it must have been quite an impressive building in it’s heyday, although these days it could perhaps do with a little tidying up.

The front bar is a good-sized, U-shaped room and quite elegant in a slightly faded sort of way, with black slate tiling on the floor, battleship grey wood panelling on the walls to the left and an unusual sea blue ceiling. Much of the sections on the wood panelling were inlaid with picture and shields, whilst a wall to the right had a large collection of plates on display. A full height wooden partition inlaid with etched glass and a door was an interesting feature. Seating was a mixture of mustard yellow padded tools at the bar, lower level green padded stools at the tables, as well as regular chairs and some banquet seating. The curved bar counter was clad with sage green wood panelling.

The pub is much bigger than it initially appears, and opens out towards the read in to two further rooms. The smaller of the two was largely being used by diners on our Sunday lunchtime visit and was again quite elegant with black beams on a pale yellow ceiling, dark wood panelling on the lower part of the walls and yellow painted embossed wallpaper above. Only the floor let it down which appeared to be just some sort of rough concrete. The larger room was really quite impressive, and you could almost imagine being in a large stately home. There was again wood panelling on the lower part of the walls, and this time the ceiling was deep maroon colour, but there was a parquet wood floor which improved it considerably and what was presumably an enormous walk-in fireplace at one time, although these days it was just used for some further pew style seating. Old chandeliers hung from the ceiling and large leaded windows let in plenty of light. Only the presence of a couple of screens, one a large protector, showing the rugby detracted from the ambience.

Fortunately, it’s not a case of style over substance as there was also a decent beer selection consisting of Sambrook’s Wandle, Wimbledon SW19, Twickenham Autumn Red, Volden Session, Volden Pale, Sharp’s Solar Wave and Jaipur IPA. Ciders meanwhile were Aspall’s and Rosie’s Pig. Overall, quite an impressive pub, and with a bit of TLC it could really be quite something.
