Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lock & Barrel
Frinton was (in)famous as being the town without any pubs, until this was converted from a ironmongers / hardware store in 2000 (and it is still the only one inside the gates). Retains an interesting frontage, and looks quite traditional inside the opened-out bar, so the casual visitor may be unaware of its curious history (unless they look at the local history displays). Also has two small patio areas at the back on either side of the glazed link leading to the separate small building with the toilets. As a Shepherd Neame house, I found Master Brew, Spitfire and the seasonal Late Red (£3.80) available from the two banks of three handpumps. NB - What did surprise me was to see live music advertised, which seems a bit racy for this genteel resort...
