Previously Beau Nash, and before that a Litter Tray, this rather fine building now houses a Miller and Carter with no real ale, just an overpriced keg not worthy of mention by name. The foreign barmaid was clueless, clearly not trained so not really her fault. The food was as good as you would expect, but again overpriced for what you get. Not somewhere to come for a drink, and by no means the best this chain has to offer.

This former Litten tree pub is a bit of a cavernous, and thus soulless, place. Situated in a former bank, it doesn't boast much in the way of interest beyond the high ceilings and occasional bit of filigree. There are lots of high tables and stools and even some high padded benches, which doesn't make for the comfiest seating selection. Several screens were showing live Premier League football, including a big screen in the upstairs bar, which is available for private hire. Music was being played at a quiet level except upstairs where the commentary from the match was on.
There were five hand pumps offering mostly local beers, which is good to see. Bath Gem and Festivity and Abbey Bellringer and Twelfth Night were available alongside Wells Bombareindeer, all at the wallet-friendly price of £1.95. My pint of Twelfth Night wasn't really to my taste, but it was kept well enough. Menus offered cheap, Wetherspoon's style food, but I didn't try anything.
I would have probably liked this pub if I was a student living nearby and the pub seem to have recognised this element of their appeal and put on various deals and entertainment for them, but their cheap prices can't make up for an almost total lack of atmosphere.
