Reopened after several years of closure, the interior has been smartened up in a fairly tasteful modern style, with a smattering of arty prints and a few (silent) screens. The long courtyard area outside remains but the barbecues have gone. On the bar is a bog standard range of keg stuff, with two handpumps serving Theakstons Best and Lightfoot - condition pretty good - while the food sounds uninspiring but is ok. Not really somewhere to target but it's pleasant enough to drop by if passing.

Old building next to Micklegate Bar with its main selling point being barbecued food, cooked over a fire pit (recommended, incidentally). It does have a reasonably pubby feel however, and there is one handpull selling a house badged 4.1% ale brewed in Masham, not readily identifiable but very drinkable. There is a courtyard garden at rear, artistically furnished from old pallets!
