The former Sportsman pub is now a bar dedicated to live music,but still retains a friendly atmosphere.At the front is a small bar to the left serving a lobby area with a few tables and chairs.The main body of the venue is through an arch leading to a square windowless room with another bar along the right wall and a small stage at the rear.The jungle theme is everywhere,leopold skin upholstery on the few chairs there are,lustious green plants in big pots,a large plaster lion and so on but it does create a fun atmosphere.Live music starts generally at 9pm but beforehand decent tracks play through the speakers at a sensible volume so you can enjoy a drink.Besides the usual keg options both bars sport a single handpump serving a very decent Adnams Lighthouse.Much better than I thought it would be ,a good place to catch a band.
