Closed for quite a while it reopened with smart modern décor, aimed at sophisticated under 30s I guess . Usual sort of keg range plus unexpectedly good Taylors Landlord and Golden Best. There are the usual TVs and constant music but the comfortable seating and muted brown and grey tones of the decoration make it a pleasant enough place. Some of the original North Eastern Railway Hotel details still show through the constant redecoration and rebranding of recent years, especially visible in the ceiling and window mouldings. Not quite full with its target audience when I visited early Saturday night with a few middle aged couples and the odd solitary drinker as well as the bright young things.

This is a largish looking pub close to Harrogate train station.
There was one large room inside that was fairly comfortable and very quiet on my visit,there was one real ale on the bar this was John Smiths cask and this was a fairly decent drink.
