A decent sized roadside pub, with a multi roomed traditional interior. The bar area could be found at the rear of the pub near the entrance to the rear garden and patio area. The bar area was poorly lit and I thought it was quite gloomy, along with the indifferent and unfriendly manageress. Found out later from some of the staff in the Bishop's Castle Hotel, that they used to visit here with family and friends, and have now stopped due to the owner's attitude.
Four ales on handpump, so I went for the Ludlow Stairway, which was on it's last so drank half and threw the rest in a plant pot in the back garden.

Excellent roadside local, much more welcoming on the inside than it looks from outside. Only dropped in while passing, but would happily have stayed. Good local beers well kept too.
