The latest Dalton-in-Furness entry into the Good Beer Guide is a very down-to-earth locals' boozer. A TV was showing some sort of Indian cricket ceremony at quite a volume. Locals were watching it contently. Obviously not much of excitement happens around here. We sat underneath the TV and I collapsed into a seating area which seems to have been treated like a trampoline by the local children (or perhaps adults). A refurb may be needed.
There was a pool table at the other end of the pub, whilst there is a dartboard above a fireplace, back near the TV. Speakers were being set up, presumably for karaoke or possibly a singer, maybe even bingo. Who knows?! For some reason, there are various motorbike pictures on the walls, the significance of which remains unknown.
Service was from an unresponsive young barmaid who clearly would rather have been elsewhere. 3 cask ales are available. These were Cumbrian Ales Session IPA, St Austell Tribute & Titanic Iceberg. The cider was Strongbow Dark Fruits. I chose the Session IPA, which was in great condition and very enjoyable.
The pub was quite busy with a wide age range, including children. Dogs are also allowed.
This is very much a basic locals' pub, clearly valued by the local community but not holding too much of interest to visitors, with the exception of some very good beer. I would return for this reason only.

A classic ‘local’ GBG pick. Schizophrenic interior with a trad left side and a horrific Linda Barker-esque right. Two ales on over three pumps, Wadworth and a decent Craven Brew SPA (NBSS 3). A few punters in on a Monday, with the dart board being the main focus. Outside bogs as well. Not bad. 6.5
