Four hand pulls at the bar with three of those clipped at the time of my visit on a weekday early afternoon in January. The ales available were Ossett Nervous Turkey, Ossett White Rat and Wye Valley HPA. Not a mega exciting selection but the Nervous Turkey was in good condition, setting me back £2.15 for a half.
The pub feels old school, bare boards, ancient looking carpets, with more modern or perhaps just reupholstered banquette seating. The place still smells of smoke just to add to the nostalgic feel of the place. It is pretty much open plan but has distinct sections that probably relate to where separate rooms would have once been.
TVs are dotted about but were not switched on at the time of my visit. Chalk boards list upcoming football match fixtures so presumably they are shown here. Music was playing at sensible background volume.
Seemed to be mainly locals / regulars in on my Tuesday visit around 2:30pm.
It's a bit of a walk from the main drag and I'm not sure I would go out of my way to revisit, but it was good to have tried it.

Basic Alehouse style pub with exposed brick in places, the exterior is more interesting. Counter to rear back with four pulls, pretty mundane beers, Robinsons Unicorn, Ossett White Rat and Butterley Bitter, and “Courage” Directors.

A basic sort of locals ale house. A bit grungy and has live music, you can imagine it getting very lively in here on a weekend night. Five real ales and a really good pub as far as I could tell.
