Cannot add much to Soup Dragon's detailed review but did think the outside of the pub had more appeal than the interior.called in on a Tuesday lunchtime when I had around 10 mins to spare before my bus was due.the pub had quite a few local characters hogging the bar but sadly the pub was sadly lacking in the real ale stakes

An end-terraced pub, again, in Georgian style in cream, with red paintwork around the door and windows. The pub has two rooms; with a lounge to the right and bar to the left. The lounge is in cream and stone, with a stone fireplace and had pictures of Egremont on the walls. The bar is in cream and grey, with a red patterned carpet and also a fireplace. There is a TV here, which had the horse rading on and there was no music. Art deco 1930s pictures of ocean liners were on the walls. There is a dart board area. The service was OK and the clientele a few regulars it seemed. Beer; no real ale, usual tap stuff - i had half a cider which was fine. Nothing for the real ale fan.
