Strongers . left this review about Cotton Tree
There’re some decent pubs in Bollington, and in my opinion the Cotton Tree is the pick of the bunch and would be my local if I lived in the village, in fact I visited twice during a recent Sunday crawl. It was very busy on both occasions, so I didn’t get to have a proper nose around the flagstone floored interior, but one of the tables along the front wall was free both during both visits, so I sat there and to survey the goings on. The central L-shaped serving counter faces these tables and seating up the left that is found behind a brick chimney breast that houses a burner. There is more seating behind the counter in the rear of the pub, but I didn’t venture that far in. The décor is just as busy as the pub itself with brass kettles, cups and pans hanging from the ceiling in amongst bunches of hops. Standard and premium keg products were available alongside Neck Oil and the six hand pumps were drawing a decent pint of Bass, Theakston Best, TT Landlord and Wainwright alongside a couple of guests that were Black Sheep’s Best and Respire. The service from the chatty and popular governor, as well as his staff, was very friendly and welcoming, in fact it makes the pub. This is a great boozer that is a must visit if in the village.
