First time back to this place since the pandemic and I thought they have improved the place. They have certainly improved the outside area which is now dominated by a large covered terrace section, and the interior seems to have been smartened up, with more definition between the different areas of the pub, and now a clear branding to this being an upmarket food pub and garden. However it is family run and there are weekly pub quizzes and Jazz evenings (as mentioned below), to make it feel more like a pub than a restaurant.
The six ale pumps are still in situ on the bar top, but only three in operation for our visit, with the run of the mill Timothy Taylor Landlord and Fullers London Pride, complimented by a extremely good Redemption Brewing Trinity.
We were actually in late afternoon for a beer and a spot of late lunch and coincided with their happy hour (which is actually two hours mid to late afternoon) where you can throw a dice with the chance of getting 10% off with a 3 or 50% off with a six.
I blew out on the round of Redemption Trinity’s and had to pay the full £5.75 a pint, but my mate who went up to place our food order threw a six, so that we could enjoy their upmarket food at just over a tenner a head.

Bit of a trek for us but has a midweek jazz session that attracts quality players, is free with no jug or raffle (very rare these days since l*ckd*wn). Music is held in the garden in warm weather. Other than that, not much more to add to previous reviews.

Visited 22/12/25. Visited previously 18/12/22.

Cask TT LL, L Pride and Redemption Trinity. Keg was Jubel Peach, Staro, Pravha, Blue Moon, Brixton Reliance Pale Ale, Madri, Peroni, Umbrella cider, Alpacalypse, Lucky Saint, Guinness, Neck Oil, b&c OMC and Aspall.

Another sort of U-shaped corner venue with the bar counter following the internal shape and then with offshoot seating areas to the extreme left and right hand ends of the bar counter. It is bare boarded with a terracotta tile skirt along the length of the bar counter, which had discretely placed tall stool seating dotted along its length. In the main bar area, there are dark leather banquettes around the perimeter serving regular tables with leather bucket armchairs the other side thereof. The room at the left-hand end of the bar counter was out of bounds for a private function and was excessively decorated with pink artificial flowers on the ceiling and the floor space dominated by a very large table housing a party of around 30 on my visit, the other few regular tables and chairs off limits to outsiders. Indeed, based on my glance into the room, a heavy red velvet curtain was quickly drawn across its entrance. The room to the extreme right of the bar counter had several regular tables laid for diners with a roaring fire adding to the heat of the venue on a very mild day. The pub was very festive, but other than me, everyone else here was here to dine. Didn't investigate outside seating options at the rear of the venue, but looked quite sizeable.
