This is an Ember Inns establishment on the edge of Durham. This chain used to be quite reliable for real ales, but seems to have gone downhill over the past couple of years. They still offer a discount for CAMRA members, but I seldom find an ale worth drinking.
So it transpired with the Duke of Wellington. Twilighter & Doom Bar are the regular beers on here. The guest beer was Landlord.
The pub was quite busy early on a Thursday afternoon. But I couldn't see any other drinkers. Everybody else was there for the food.
