A family owned town pub on the main road East out of town. There is a decent sized car park at the side but we weren’t sure whether there was any garden as it was dark when we visited. The building has undergone some refurbishment so feels more like a modern small hotel than a pub, especially as they do B&B and are a popular venue for diners. On the right as you enter the front door is a snug room, and on the left a larger lounge bar with a mix of comfy seating and tables for casual diners. The lounge is irregular in shape, having been formed by conjoining mis-matched rooms, and it is carpeted throughout. There is a restaurant area at the back. That said there is plenty of space for vertical drinkers. Food is restaurant standard at reasonable prices. The landlady was reasonably friendly, and there was a mixed bag of customers in. There was one ale on, Butcombe Original, in average condition. Also available were Estrella, Underfall Lager, Guinness, Stateside IPA and 2 ciders from Thatcher’s. Probably a good place to go for a cheap meal or to join one of their party nights, and it certainly offers more than any other pub in Radstock, but it didn’t feel like a proper local to me

Took the family for a meal. Clean and tidy pub 6x on tap. Menu a little pretentious, I went for the steak, asked for rare but came out cremated and waffer thin. More like a burger. As long as you eat before you visit you will be ok otherwise a nice pub.

Easy to miss but worth stopping by if only for the fact that the poub is attached to the butcher's...a guarantee of good food!
