The Brook is the old station buffet next to, what is now, Brooklands Metro Station. It’s not the biggest of places, but it is well formed with a welcoming interior. The bar on the right wall supports four hand pumps, one of which was off during a recent midweek evening visit. This is a JW Lees Pub so it wasn’t surprising to see the three operational pumps drawing their Bitter, MPA and Malt Crush. The bar counter faces high tables in the middle and banquette seating is found in the left hand side. There are a couple of televisions that the other five or six customer were watching Champions League on. The toilets are upstairs, as is a large open plan seating area that has another couple of televisions. Uniquely, the walls at the top of the stairs are transparent so you can see into this seating area on the way to the toilets. I found this bar to be interesting and the service was friendly so I would have no problem returning.

A nice little pub on the platform of the Altrincham bound tram. 4 handpumps on the bar dispense JW Lees beers. 3 were on today - JW Bitter, MPA and MCR Fold. The seating to the left is 2 booths leading to a comfortable small area with brown banquette seating. There is seating upstairs but I never went up so no idea what its like. Outside benches too.
