Dire. A hideous modern style nightmare dreamt up by some overpaid tit who thinks theyre being clever. A mixture of old style Regency-a-like chairs, junior school chairs, crap wallpaper... oh sod it, its just crap. There are 3 handpumps for real ale but I give up.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Waterside
The Waterside is a large modern pub this is in the middle of Sale and it is not right by the canal so the name is'nt quite right.
Once inside there was one large room that was decked out in typical Smith&Jones style with tall tables and chairs in the middle and more comfortable seating aroung the edge of the pub.
There were no real ales on the bar and the only bitters were John Smiths smooth crap or Worthington cream crap so i had a Guinness.
As far as modern pubs go this was very dissapointing.
