I used the Sun & Doves in the late 70's when a friend was studying at Kings and this is as far up Coldharbour Lane that we deemed safe to visit. The pub is large ,on a street corner and the three doors show the original layout, lounge to the left, public bar in the middle, right the saloon and dining area. These days it's open plan with the ceiling joists show the original outline.
It's full of nurses from the hospital, lively and noisy with lots of well worn sofas and archchairs in the lounge with a decent fireplace, ranks of high tables and refectory style at the front, more discrete dining type tables to the right "wait to be seated "section with front exterior pic nic banches for good weather drinking. There is also a vast rear beer garden.
It's in the 2025 GBG and on my trip the ale choice was from St Austell Tribute,TT Landlord and Wye Valley Butty Bach (good nick,NBSS 3.5) The other handpumps were unclipped. The food options had a median main of £16,but a £10 sausage and mash as a cheap option.Flatscreens were off and the hubub significant.
Functional and worth a crawl visit ,a mundane ale selection but well kept is a plus in Camberwell.

Originally the Sun & Doves until recently, this pub dates from at least the start of the 19th century but presumably has been rebuilt; it’s quite a grand affair.
Operated by Urban Pubs and Bars since 2024, this was previously an Antic outfit and it still shows. With an opened-out interior and tables laid for dining to the rear, there’s a boarded floor, dark grey walls with yellow wainscoting then a white ceiling with some structural ironwork on display. Like the furniture, lighting is mixed though fairly conventional, with knickknacks in the form of crappy oil paintings, a wardrobe and shabby old luggage. Customers were a younger crowd, though not that many for a Wednesday at getting on for 9.00pm.
A cask selection displayed two reversed clips, then Landlord and Butty Bach at £2.70 a half and decent, served by a pleasant barman.
This place is essentially fine if you aren’t too fussy and don’t mind Antic’s antics.

Corner pub close to King's College Hospital. It is owned by Antic and the front bar features tables and chairs similar to their other pubs. A larger dining room to the rear was much more formal. On a warm summer's evening, most punters were outside in a garden area to the rear.
Timothy Taylor Landlord & Volden Session are the regular ales. Guests were Wye Valley HPA & Butty Bach. I hadn't had Butty Bach for some time and this one was surprisingly enjoyable. One of the better pubs of my day in South East London.
