I spotted a large ‘want to run this pub’ sign on the front of the Turks Head as I approached, so I wasn’t expecting much, but was glad that it was open. Inside I was surprised because it didn’t have the feel of a pub in transition, so maybe the current governors are just moving on to better things. To the left is a pool table and I sat at a high table to the right next to a tidy raised seating area up the right-hand wall. The counter mid-way up the left-hand wall supports standard keg alongside Birra Moretti and Cruzcampo, so no cask available. Towards the rear there are steps to a dartboard and a DJ booth that sat silent while some background music played. I don’t think anyone is going out of their way to visit this pub, but I thought it a perfectly acceptable town centre boozer.

Poor place - keg only. The barmaid was outside sanding tables and had to be summoned to serve us.

Called in yesterday and found they had Wychwood Hobgoblin on, but it was freezing cold, and therefore had very little taste at all.
