The name’s origin can be found on the website, but the only resting hares you’re likely to find around hear now have probably been hit by a Deliveroo driver.
A first in here the other night and the interior certainly looks to be rather fine Art Deco; the building appears to date from the 1930s.
Otherwise, the interior is as described below and rather brightly lit. Customers were mixed and few in number, but it was a Tuesday.
There’s a substantial bar to the rear with a central chrome fount dispensing around ten or so ‘craft’ as well as German beers. To the side, there’s a beer board but to the bar itself, there was just Landlord, Bristol Beer Factory’s Independence and then Dudda’s Dud which turned out not to be a beer, but the solitary cider though quite drinkable enough and £2.90 a half, served by an incoherent barman.
This isn’t a bad place as such, but it’s really aimed at the type of drinker that perhaps isn’t so interested in pub authenticity and is more inclined to drink keg; I’d keep on walking to the totally authentic Queens Head up the road, with its greater choice of cask ales.
Closed at weekends.

Art Deco style interior, rectangular in formation with a fairly small low-level U-shaped servery with pewter topping at the rear. Some booth seating alongside the tiresome high tables. Mainly keg with just Jaipur (NBSS 2, opaque and rough) and a cider on cask. Some interesting German beers at competitive (for London) prices though, so I had a couple of those after forcing down the Jaipur. Shame the cask was poor, as otherwise I didn’t mind this one – surprised to find out it’s run by the same people as the Euston Tap. Card-only. 5.5

The entrance is quite grand ,up a stone staircase with seating terraces to either side, the high ceiling bar has some art deco features and was clearly a bar for the hotel next door, but these days there is no connection. The wooden floor and hip vibe plus loud muzak makes this place noisy when busy but the seating is mainly large banquettes with just a few high tables in the centre and lots of vertical drinking options infront of the U shaped bar with a classy bar back incorporating the rear obsured glass window.
The chalk board describes the 12 keg options, some leading microbrewers were featured but some selections looked mainstream. The 4 handpumps were offering Adnams Southwold Bitter and Old Ale,Redemption Trinity and Old Dairy Uber Brew(decent).A worthy selection but this bar will never displace the nearby Euston Tap for the real ale fan.
Pub Grub style food is served, and I could have been tempted to stay longer,it's worth popping in to see what's on offer.
