Previously a chapel, the building was opened as a pub in 1999 or thereabouts. It sits in the middle of the High Street terrace and has no outside areas to speak of. Inside, it's spread over 2 floors, which can be screened off to create separate function and bar areas. Entertainment is provided in the form of live TV sports and a disco (if they're still called that). Tables are booked online and there's no vertical drinking. Doesn't open lunchtime, no real ale, cheap cocktails and a standard megakeg range make it pretty much indistinguishable from every other late night dive where you can't hear yourself think due to screaming bints or enjoy the delicate aroma of the cheap spirits due to the overwhelming scent of testosterone. The sort of place that has turned 'hen party' into an adjective. Doesn't open Mondays. No minstrels in this Gallery, so I doubt I'll be back, though in fairness it's nice to see the building being put to good use.
