Moby Duck left this review about The Black Horse
A small traditional pub with a single roomed bar. Two unused handpumps adorned the bar top with a keg selection of premium lager and corporate craft. Live football was on the single screen with just one other guy sat at the bar watching it. A decent enough pub but seemingly no cask beer anymore.

This place dates from the early 19th century, but was rebuilt in the 1840s, was once known as Bar Bed before later becoming Zeppelin Shelter.
It’s much as described below, but the place seems to be geared to showing football, with very loud sound piped through the pub’s hi-fi system, though at least the very mixed customer base was actually watching it for once.
Ales came in the form of one unused pump, then GK IPA, me opting for a half of Staropramen at £3.15, served by an attentive barman.
This is a bit of a dispiriting sports bar; the far superior Oliver Conquest is a few doors down.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Black Horse
Traditional-looking Greene King pub with a downstairs bar but a modernised room and small roof terrace on the first-floor. 80s background music and dartboards on both levels. Just the regular and Barmy Army versions of IPA (the latter badly overpriced at £5.00, and very end of barrel) available from two of the three handpumps. Not rushing back here anytime soon...
