The Golden Cock is an L-shaped Craft Union pub with seating in the windows either side of the central front entrance. The bar is up the right where the serving counter faces the right-hand wall. Standard and premium keg was available, but both hand pumps, badged with Doom Bar, were off. At the back of the bar is a step up to a couple of dartboards and behind a wall in the rear I could hear the noise of pool balls smashing together, but there were lots of younger drinkers, who I assumed were the offspring of the customers in the Tubwell next door, so I decided to stay in the bar area where sports channels were on the televisions while background music played. This isn’t somewhere I’ll be visiting again because there are pubs more suited to me in the area.

Called in this pub yesterday looking for real ale, but was told they hadn't any. Looked a busy town pub behind the main bus stops.
