One of those rare things, a reopened Sam Smith's pub. As with most of their estate it has a nice, traditionally-furnished interior, in this case with several distinct areas including a little snug and a larger lounge/dining room. Various decorations reflect the nearby Civil War battle and there is a good lawned beer garden to the rear. Just OBB on handpump of course, and food service is starting the day after this visit. If you can live with the usual petty restrictions and limited ale choice, a very nice pub. There is also a handy bus stop right outside but the service is patchy, to say the least.
