Bee Inn, Colwyn Bay

Situated in a village just south of Bodnant Garden, the Bee Inn has limited opening hours. You can find it open on 4 evenings (Wed-Sat) and during the day on a Sunday.

There is a single room with pale green wainscotting and cream painted walls. There is a slate floor. A real fire was going at opening time for my Thursday evening visit but the pub was still quite cold. A display board to the side of the fireplace gave details about the pub ghost.

There are a couple of dartboards and the staff were moving tables to prepare for a match that evening. There are also a couple of TVs. One was showing the TNT Sports preview of a European match. The wifi code was made available on request. Toilets are outside to the rear, where there also a patio area for outdoor drinking.

There are a couple of handpulls on the bar. Only one was clipped with a a Marston's house beer (a rebadged 61 Deep). Wainwright was due on next. Wild Horse Nokota was the pick of the keg beers and the cider was Somersby.

The pub lacked atmosphere at opening time (5:30). It would have been good to have seen it later on when busier but I had other venues to get to.
