Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Gable

Busy, but the long rectangular bar is usually big enough to avoid the usual City bar crush. Variety of seating areas, including a partitioned 'snug' by the door and with the line of tables along the side windows located up one step; all with modern furniture and decor. Increasingly lower lighting and louder music as the evening progresses. Separate Cellar bar downstairs (never visited). Two handpumps hidden away amongst the shiny lager dispensers, dispensing Doom Bar and Adnams Bitter (£4.50) on my latest visit. Not really my type of place, but with a better atmosphere than some of the more 'shouty' city bars.
