Wynd Street really is a dystopian place, Mad Max might have second thoughts if he turned-up in Swansea. Anyway, this is at least an oasis of civility in both atmosphere and service. The ale range was good, as was the quality of my Gower Gold (NBSS 3.5); which, after admiring the interior, I decided to take outside in order to have a chuckle at the 6ft 4” transvestite with a megaphone trying to drum-up custom for the bar opposite.

Whilst not exactly an oasis of calm, this place does at least feel like a bit of respite after navigating the last hours of Pompeii on Wind Street on a Saturday night. Three levels though we only explored the ground floor which is long and thin with the room effectively divided into three. It has a very traditional feel with red and cream colours, varnish wood floor, beautiful dark wood display cabinets and lovely old windows - a * CAMRA listed interior. Four interesting ales on; Cheddar Hardrock (NBSS 3), Gower Gold, Ramsbury Mango and another I forgot to note. Whilst being pretty noisy on a Saturday night I’d be inclined to come back again at a quieter time. Rated 7

I came here on two midweek afternoons while they had a beer festival on. A good selection of local and further afield beers including a nice chocolate stout and a lovely 6% dark mild. Quiet and peaceful during the day. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Would certainly visit again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about No Sign Bar
Although promoting itself as a wine-bar and restaurant, it is also very much a real ale outlet. The front part of the narrow rectangular bar has a limited amount of comfortable seating shared by those just stopping by for refreshment and eating, whereas the next section seems more set up as a dining area. However, there is a proper dining room with another small bar extending a similar distance further back again. The four handpumps are to be found on the rear counter of the main bar, and the choice was Saltaire Amarillo Gold, Dark Side of the Mouse from Purple Moose, the local Gower Gold (£3.80) and Muscle Mary cider.
