This used to be a bit of a scruffy pub until Adnams spent a bucket of money doing it up and turning it into a bit of a Gastro pub in about 2006. Strangely a couple of years later they sold it to Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises who ran it for about a year before closing it down and putting the lease on the market.
Fortunately it reopened in June 2010 as a Freehouse and seemed to be making a go of it by offering 3 to 4 local brewery ales.
Unfortunately it closed again at the end of March on the orders of Suffolk Constabulary as the pub was aledgely not being run within the objectives of the Licensing Act, what ever that means.
Currently remains closed pending a review of the premises’ licence.
