Graham Coombs left this review about Bower's Tap

An average sort of Stonegate town pub, the interior slightly distressed with a few arty touches but pleasant enough. A few sports screens provided entertainment but were being largely ignored."T'Other Bar" was signed upstairs but didn't look open and we didn't make it up there. Just TT Landlord available on handpump, with Saltaire Blonde and Kirkstall 3 Sworda 'coming soon'. Suits its purpose but nothing special.

Five casks available in this unlikely venue, one was a cider. A noisy barn with many screens and all too aimed at the 18-30 segment. Nowt wrong with that but be warned. The beer was ok, there’s something upstairs called “T’other Bar”, a function room of some sort I’m told.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Hourglass

The Hourglass is situated on a very busy street.
Once inside there is a decent sized single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the room is bare boarded, the bar is on the right side the seating is a mix of tall tables and chairs and bench seating, there were TVs on showing the Chelsea v Man Utd game.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Taylor Boltmaker which went down very well, the other beers were Jennings Cumberland,Wadworth 6X,GK IPA and Old Speckled Hen.
The pub was very busy on my early Saturday evening visit,i thought this was a decent pub to end my crawl in.
