Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Swan
Seemingly basic pub near (but not in sight of) a disused side branch of the Wyrley and Essington Canal. It must have had two small bars originally, but these have been opened-out at some stage to leave a plain 'L'-shaped room with just three tables in the main part and a pool table in the other. However, there is also more seating in a rear lounge and outside in a plain beer garden. I'll admit I was dubious about the "Quality Real Ales" claimed on the exterior signage of the sort that so often leads to disappointment, but there were a pair of Wye Valley beers on handpump: HPA (£2.50, and nice enough) and the seasonal Cross Bar.

An end terraced, rather Georgian looking white rendered pub, with green paintwork.
The pub has a couple of rooms, although the lights were off in what i assumed was the lounge so i didn't see that. The bar room is L-shaped with a pool table and dart board at one end. The decor is a cream wallpaper, with green pattern on it, a couple of undressed brick chimney breasts, one with a nice tiled fireplace. There is a white ceiling and wood floor. There is a TV on in the corner, showing Eastenders and there were some trophies and mirrors on dotted about for interest. The service was fine and the place busy with locals.
Beer; all tap stuff, with Banks's MILD on handpull, which was decent.
It isn't the first time i have been here. It always feels like a locals pub, everyone knowing everyone, execpt you - and you feel as though the piano player stops when you walk in. Mind you, that wouldn't stop me visiting if they just had a greater real ale choice.
