Will Larter left this review about Arena Square
This supremely ugly building plonked randomly beside a traffic intersection is part of the Table Table chain. I didn't order any food, but saw others being served in a performance of high theatre involving large trays set onto collapsible legs beside the intending diners' table. On the bar, surprisingly, were two hand pumps, though only Wychwood Hobgoblin was available. (The unavailable one was from Spire Brewery of Chesterfield.) The young trainee barman had a good stab at pouring this, but it took several efforts to get more beer than froth into the glass. Top marks for at least having a real ale on, unlike the neighbouring Wentworth, Carbrook Hall and Noose & Gibbet.
I suppose this is one of those "does what it says on the tin" establishments, and if you need replenishing after a trip to Meadowhall, and let's face it, who doesn't, then this might fit the bill. For myself, I feel it's unlikely that I'll be back.
