Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Garrick Arms
Reasonably large single-room Greene King pub, with a fairly bright interior under a high ceiling and a few features of interest (including floor tiles along counter and a number of small chandeliers). Not been here for ten years, but only two handpumps these days, and IPA (especially at £6.50) and Abbot isn't going to excite anyone. However, still handy for the attractions around Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square but fairly inconspicuous in the street-scene and just off the main tourist routes so unlikely to be too crowded.

The building dates from 1890, despite the apparent ‘old' appearance, this is in fact a modern conversion of a former branch of Dôme, a precursor to Café Rouge, the name taken from the Garrick Theatre up the road, in turn taken from the famous 18th century actor David Garrick.
I came here once before in the early 2000s, probably because it had a prototype late licence – it must have been brand new at the time – and passed it again last night. As it’s not a purpose-built pub, I didn’t bother going in; the fact that it’s owned by Greene King only amplified the incentive not to enter.

An old pub on Charing Cross Road which has been modernised to give an open plan feel but still retains a few original features. The bar has been resurfaced in plastic with a curious circular section and there is an assortment of furniture including some random pieces. Not sure about the arty light fittings though, and despite labelling itself as a "Gin Palace" it isn't one. Draught beers seemed to be in good condition though, with Abbot, IPA, and Portobello Star on pump as well as a couple of ciders.
