A traditional pub towards the outskirts of Keynsham, there is a smallish bar at the front of the pub that has carpeted flooring, some exposed stone work and a small fire-place with a wood burning stove and a pile of logs stacked up ready for the colder weather. Some wood partitioning splits the area in to two with a smaller snug at the rear. Walls were cream plaster with some pale blue wood panelling on the lower part.
The barman seemed friendly and there were a couple of small TV’s up on the wall although these were not in use on our visit. There was also a darts board, trophy cabinet and an old etched Bass mirror. A small wood panelled porch in the entrance way included some leaded glass in the upper part.
Beers on tap were Bass and Doom Bar, although a third pump for Gem appeared to have run out. Ciders were well represented with Stowford Press, Blackthorn, Thatcher’s Gold and Thatcher’s Traditional. All in all this seems a decent enough local pub, and certainly a better bet than the bland chain pub just across the road.

This pub has just had new desking put up so you can see over the park it really is a gorgeous setting, they have also just redecorated the lounge and launche a new lovely menu that would appeal to all those who love pub grub. Two brothers run the pub and offer a very warm welcome a proper family business.
