As the Wallace’s Head (later Wallace Head), this pub dates from at least the late 18th century; formerly Bok Bar, recently reopened, the name inspired by the Hart family, who ran it during the 1840s (not Bok Bar of course); it’s now part of the upmarket Public House Group, whose imprimatur is evident to their website, likewise their Pelican (W11), Hero (W2) and Bull (OX7).
Like the Pelican and Hero, the interior is a celebration of brown and beige, a bit like drinking in the Namib desert at dusk, given the painfully low light levels. The floor is modern dark herringbone parquet, dark half-height field panelling then beige walls to a similarly coloured Anaglypta ceiling; the bar array is tasteful modern bare wood with mirror rear. There are a few nookie areas, seating traditional with some banquettes. Customers were young and exuberant, possibly Cantabrigians celebrating their recent win, given that one customer was wearing a Leander rowing top.
With bronze taps and pumps, there are neither fisheyes nor clips, a beer board located at 100º to the bar; hardly intuitive and a pain in the neck to read, quite literally. Cask offerings amounted to Allsopp’s Bitter and Pale, £6.50 a pint, in great nick, served by a very friendly barmaid.
This is a pretty good bet compared to other local establishments, but I prefer to glean information from a pump clip and the dim lighting is an accident waiting to happen.

Visited 20/10/25. Visited previously as Flowerhouse on 24/01/22.
They have the Allsopp's IPA and Pale Ale on cask. Keg offering is Lucky Saint, Murphy's Stout, Kicking Goat Cider, Lost & Grounded Keller Pils, Deya Steady Rolling Man and Portobello Pilsner.
Upmarket (as you would expect around here) pub revival with bare boards and a wooden bar counter that dominates the centre of the venue. There are some booths along the right-hand wall and some cosy tables and stools around the perimeter but generally I can imagine most visits here would see you standing around the bar counter. There are a lot of taps on the bar counter, but all are unmarked (as are the two hand pumps) instead you need to look at the printed drinks menus or the listings on the boards on the walls. A cosy and classy venue but can't see it as a session venue, the novelty quickly wears off.

One room with bar in the middle. One hand pump - not on. Outside seating to rear.
