A surprisingly cosy little bar with a strong local following, although it feels more like a mainland Europe bar than an English pub. The decor is sanded flooring, plain wood tables and motley rubbish round the walls, with a stack of board games. The strange looking counter has half a dozen keg taps including a Brew York (overgassed, overchilled and overpriced) and a couple of Camden's. If there was only a decent ale on I wouldn't mind coming here.

A small corner bar with a tiny front area and a very slightly larger back side which gets used more for eating. Not much to tickle the craft fan and nowt for Real Ale only aficionados but it’s unpretentious and friendly. Constant music warning applies.

This is a small bar tucked down an alleyway in the centre of York. Inside it is hard floorboards and shiney table tops, the sort of place I hate. Beer wise there are two lagers Budvar (£4) and Becks vier (£3.95) as well as east coast ipa from green king which was £3.80 but not an ipa and really not to my taste much like most greene king beers, i wish i had gone for the budvar. There is also a limited selection of over priced bottled ales fro Yorkshire costing a painful £4.25.
There is additional seating upstairs that sometimes has live music playing but in my opinion not to a very good standard. This is really not a beer drinkers pub at all with stupidly high prices and has a very plastic dull bar atmosphere and the sort of people to match, really not worth a visit but they do have some beer so not the very worst york has to offer.
