The village of Shieldaig overlooks the Loch of the same name. This hotel is on the main street of the village and faces the loch itself.
We initially found an empty hotel bar, where we rang a bell. A guy soon appeared and helped us to locate the main bar a few doors up.
The main bar is a single, small room with a handful of tables. Strathcarron Golden Cow & Red Cow are the 2 real ales. I opted for the latter before attempting the lengthy drive to Applecross.
A friendly village hostelry, with picture-postcard views.
