Visited in April. Two banks of hand pulls at the bar offering the usuals plus guests. Old Rosie cider was clipped but was presumably just advertising for bag in a box.

Outdoor seating to the front, side and rear. The rear looked to be the larger outdoor space and something of a sun trap.

I don't recall the interior being anything special but it's certainly a grand imposing building externally. Batley doesn't seem to have much on offer in terms of real ale pubs, making this branch of Spoons the default choice.

Biggish 'spoons with multiple spaces, the ground floor has two counter faces, one all keg the other with a standard 5+5 topped and tailed by T-bars. Decorated with old facts boards, and the usual silent screens. Nice enough spoons, decent old building and the service on the app was pretty good. Toilets are several floors upstairs.

This one is set in a fine old Pennine stone building that was once a bank. Inside it's a roughly L shaped room with a patio at the rear. The fixtures and fittings are fairly typical. I noticed the food clubs here are cheaper than average as well as the traditional breakfast and coffee.
Although the bar has two sets of five hand pumps the beer choice was a bit limited with the two GK beers and Old Peculier doubled plus two ciders leaving just Goose Eye Chinook & Pommies Revenge. I went for the Pommies Revenge (£1.99) which was in good nick.
Despite the limited beer choice I thought this was overall a decent JDW.
