Sat behind a grass covered beer garden full of picnic tables the lights on the conservatory at the rear of the Hinds Head made it look very inviting as I approached on a recent Tuesday evening. Inside, the front entrance faces the serving counter that supports standard, premium and mainstream craft keg alongside two hand pumps, one of which was in use drawing TT Landlord. To the left of the entrance is some raised seating adjacent to a fireplace and in the left rear is the aforementioned conservatory where the older punters had assembled. To the right of the entrance is a cosy raised banquette seating area and in the far right are more tables. There was a quiz in progress during my visit so I had to sit quietly after a wander around the pub. This place is a little too food led and the inclusion of only Landlord on cask isn’t very adventurous so another walk out from the station isn’t on the cards.
