A week long tour on foot of the NY Moors and this for me was the best pub of the lot.
Wonderful friendly host.
A proper bar, full of drinkers - interacting with one another and including a lonely rambler in the conversation.
Good Theakstons XB.

The Horseshoe is one of the traditional North Yorkshire Inns I used to frequent as a teenager, following a hard days work on The North Yorkshire Moors Railway. In those days it was Theakstons I drank with relish. We went there last Thursday, for the first time in 25 years and had an excellent bar meal and drank Black Sheep all night. The bar was exactly as I rememberd it, the staff seemed younger though, and the cupboard next to the fire still had the Skull inside to the delight of the American tourists we chatted with.
