Now reinvented as The Drumming Snipe, now much more a gastro pub than its previous incarnation as The Mayford Arms. A more upmarket pub now, with three areas, two essentially dining with the centre area more for drinking. Smartly attired throughout with a mix of seating options. The wall behind the bar is home to a number of glass cases containing the stuffed remains of various countryside animals including Pheasants , Weasels and of course Snipes. Still a Greene King owned pub but just IPA on from that stable, the other two handles were home to a couple of West Berks beers , Good Old Boy and Full Circle. Not my kind of place but ok for a pint if passing with nowhere else to go.

A sizable Greene King pub opened out inside but with four distinct areas, the main bar area,a restaurant area, and a couple of smaller rooms one with a dartboard and jukebox, the other housing a pool table, the floor is carpeted except the immediate bar area which is wooden boards, there are many old photos on the walls of local areas in days gone by.
On the bar along with the usual keg offerings are three pumps, all Greene King related beers,Abbott, IPA and Old Golden Hen. There was a sprinkling of after work customers who seemed friendly enough as was the service. Not a bad pub but given the beer choice I wouldn't go out of my way.
