We were the only people sat inside on a sunny September Saturday afternoon. This is primarily a family/dining pub which has a number of separate drinking/dining areas inside. Many of the tables were reserved for later in the day, with a definite focus on dining. However, the pub has a cosy feel.
To the rear, there is a large outdoor area, where many families were a mixture of diners and drinkers, attracted by a children's climbing frame at the back. Seating is a mixture of undercover and open air. With so many people sitting outside, I couldn't help but wonder what the pub is like on a colder autumnal/winter day. Are there the same number of customers inside as were outside on our visit? I'd imagine the pub takes on a completely different feel.
Service from the young staff was professional, but fairly impersonal. Regular ales are Sharp's Doom Bar & Young's Ordinary. Guests were Young's Drop Gold & Lister's Summertime. The Drop Gold was reasonably enjoyable.

A two room pub with an additional restaurant area to the rear, seemed a little on the upmarket side of things punter wise all suits and smart casual on a Friday lunchtime, food is obviously a big thing here , but there are four handpumps ,two in each room,Pride and Doom Bar in one and two from Thurstons,Gold and Hooker in the other. Not really my kind of place but I would imagine its decent for a pint and a bite.
