A basic single roomed locals pub with a twist, the twist being one area to the side of the U shaped central bar is a fully functioning barbers, apparently the home of the bear cut, whatever that may be. Pubwise it a basic but solid locals boozer pretty much as Malden man describes below, the four hand pumps were all clipped but doubled up with London Pride and Youngs Bitter, the latter was in very good condition at £3.80 a pint.Should you feel a bit peckish of an evening bread rolls with various fillings were available for a solitary quid.Football was on a few screens dotted around the pub. Service was friendly as was the couple of punters I spoke to. I thought it ok here.

This pub is a pretty featureless single roomed affair with the plain bar being L-shaped in a back corner. Two fireplaces face each other across the room, one now occupied by a log burning stove. There is a TV on each chimney breast. Green carpet, banquettes and chairs at regular tables, there is a pool table in the back corner area alongside the end of the bar. Some full height wood panelling but little decor of any note apart from an absolute plethora of drug warning notices, never a good sign in my book.
There were however four handpumps, one had Young's Bitter, the other unusually I thought Ascot Ales Posh Pooch. Two reversed were another Young's Bitter and Pride. I went naturally for the Posh Pooch but it was tired, and I suspect it of possibly having been sat in the pump for a while despite it being mid afternoon, all the other punters were on lager.
Cheap food menu, all mains at £5.95.
Outside to one end is a paved garden with a kids play area. There are a number of pubs clustered together in this part of Walton, I doubt this one is the best.

Relatively basic pub but seems pretty well run. Good value, and certainly not posh.
